Davey Todd secures a double victory at the Southern 100, setting new lap records in both the Senior and Supersport classes.

Reigning solo champion Davey Todd kicked off his 2025 Southern 100 Road Races campaign with a stellar performance at the Isle of Man event. Todd not only clinched victory in the Senior contest but also shattered his own lap speed record, clocking an impressive 116.409mph. This triumph was a redemption after narrowly missing out on a win in the opening Lightweight race.
Senior Race Dominance
Todd's dominance was evident as he pulled away from the field on his BMW, finishing the six-lap Senior race more than five seconds ahead of fellow Yorkshireman Dean Harrison. Manxman Nathan Harrison secured third place, while Northern Ireland's Michael Dunlop had to settle for fourth.
Supersport Class Victory
The Supersport 600cc race was a nail-biter, with Todd and Ireland's Mike Browne exchanging leads multiple times. Todd eventually crossed the finish line 1.2 seconds ahead of Browne on his Honda, setting a new outright record in the class with a speed of 111.544mph. Reflecting on the race, Todd expressed his satisfaction, stating, "That one meant a lot, I had to work hard for that one. I'm just stoked with that, I really loved the battle."
Sidecar Action
The evening also featured the first Sidecar race of the event, where Manx brothers Ryan and Callum Crowe set a new outright lap record with an average speed of 102.747mph on their Honda outfit. The battle for second place saw Pete Founds and Jevan Walmsley finish ahead of Lee Crawford and Scott Hardie.
Lightweight Race
Rob Hodson claimed victory in the Lightweight race after a fierce battle with Todd. Hodson, competing on 650 Paton machinery, made a decisive move on the final circuit to take the win. Manxman Joe Yeardsley secured third place despite issues with his Aprilia.
Supersport 600cc B Race
In the final action of the evening, Paul Cranston took victory in the Supersport 600cc B race ahead of Dennis Booth, with newcomer John Marsh in third. The race was restarted after a six-bike crash, but all riders involved were confirmed uninjured.
