Jamie Williams Secures Stunning Debut Victory at Supersport Manx Grand Prix
Jamie Williams triumphs in his debut at the Supersport Manx Grand Prix, showcasing a dominant performance on the challenging Mountain Course.

Jamie Williams made history at the Supersport Manx Grand Prix with a sensational debut victory on the iconic Mountain Course. The 32-year-old from Douglas, Isle of Man, delivered a masterclass in precision and speed, securing his first win in this prestigious event.
A Thrilling Race
Williams took the lead during the second lap of the 37.7-mile (61km) course, maintaining an average speed of over 120mph. His relentless pace on the final lap saw him finish 6.6 seconds ahead of Ireland's Caomahan Canny, with Chris Cook from Hawick rounding out the podium in third place.
The competition was fierce, with four of the top five riders averaging speeds above 120mph on the final lap. Johnny Stewart briefly led in the opening lap, but Williams quickly surged ahead, showcasing his skill and determination.
A Remarkable Comeback
Williams' victory is even more remarkable considering his recent setback. In 2024, he was airlifted to the hospital after a crash during the qualifying session, forcing him to miss the races. Reflecting on his journey, Williams expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him.
"I gave it my all out there," Williams told Manx Radio Motorsport. "Twelve months ago, I was in Aintree Hospital, and now I'm here winning. This is dedicated to everybody who has been part of this journey."
Top Performances
Ryan Whitehall held onto third place, finishing two seconds behind Williams, while Michael Gahan from Northern Ireland recorded the fastest lap of the race at 120.664mph, securing fifth place. The top 10 finishers included Toby Shann, Johnny Stewart, and Don Gilbert, among others.
Looking Ahead
Williams' victory marks a significant milestone in his career and sets the stage for future successes in the world of motorsport. The Supersport Manx Grand Prix continues to be a platform for thrilling races and remarkable comebacks, solidifying its place as one of the most challenging and prestigious events in the sport.
