Marc Marquez Dominates Aragon Grand Prix, Extends MotoGP Championship Lead

Marc Marquez secures a dominant victory at the Aragon Grand Prix, extending his lead in the 2025 MotoGP championship standings.

Marc Marquez continued his impressive form in the 2025 MotoGP season with a commanding victory at the Aragon Grand Prix in Spain. The Ducati rider, who already clinched the sprint race on Saturday, broke the lap record to secure pole position for Sunday's main event—marking the 99th pole of his illustrious career.

From the start, Marquez demonstrated his mastery, pacing himself perfectly to fend off early pressure from his brother Alex Marquez. By the midway point, Marc had stretched his lead to 1.5 seconds, a gap Alex couldn't close. The victory not only solidified Marc's dominance but also extended his lead over Alex in the championship standings to 32 points.

"It was an amazing weekend," Marquez said post-race. "The competition was getting closer every session, but I stayed consistent. Celebrating with my brother was truly special."

The Marquez brothers shared a heartfelt moment after the race, dancing in front of thousands of cheering fans. Another standout performer was Francesco Bagnaia, who bounced back from a disappointing sprint race to secure a podium finish in third place.

The Aragon Grand Prix marked the eighth race of the 2025 season, with 14 races still to come. Next up is the Brembo Grand Prix in Italy, scheduled for 20-22 June, where Marquez will aim to further cement his championship lead.

Key Highlights:

  • Marc Marquez wins Aragon Grand Prix, his fourth victory of the season.
  • Breaks lap record for 99th career pole.
  • Extends championship lead to 32 points.
  • Francesco Bagnaia recovers to finish third.
  • Next race: Brembo Grand Prix, Italy, 20-22 June.
