Virgil van Dijk Secures New Liverpool Contract Extension

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk signs a new two-year deal with the club.

Virgil van Dijk, the 33-year-old centre-back, has signed a new two-year contract with Liverpool. His previous contract was due to expire at the end of the season. Van Dijk has been with the club since 2018 and has played a crucial role in helping the team win multiple titles. Under manager Arne Slot, he remains key as the Reds aim for a 20th English league title.

The Dutchman, who had been linked with a move to Paris St-Germain, expressed his joy and commitment to Liverpool. He emphasized that it was always his preferred choice and that he is proud to be considered an adopted Scouser.

Mohamed Salah, another key player, also signed a two-year extension last week.
