This triumphant performance marks Jonbon's ninth Grade One victory, with the odds favoring him at 8-13, and follows a legendary win in the Tingle Creek last December. As the first horse in 18 years to secure back-to-back wins in this event, following in the esteemed footsteps of Kauto Star, Jonbon is undoubtedly positioning himself as a favorite for the upcoming Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham.

The race highlighted the strategic prowess of jockey Nico de Boinville who, mindful of last year's unexpected fall to Elixir De Nutz, took control from the start. Despite not planning to lead the race initially, Jonbon's enthusiasm was unmistakable, pushing De Boinville into an assertive position right from the gate.
