Great Britain's Paralympic athletes achieved remarkable success, securing 124 medals in Paris 2024, underlining their dominance in sports despite challenges.








ParalympicsGB's chef de mission, Penny Briscoe, heralded the team's outstanding performance as the Games concluded. With a squad of 215 athletes, Great Britain finished second in the medal standings, amassing a total of 124 medals: 49 golds, 44 silvers, and 31 bronzes, surpassing UK Sport's target of 100-140 medals.
The Games in Paris have been described as a transformative experience, with athletes and support staff reveling in their achievements both on and off the field. Briscoe expressed immense pride in the team's ability to 'punch above their weight,' particularly in swimming, where they excelled, winning 32 medals, including an impressive 18 golds - 10 more than in Tokyo.
Unique highlights included young star Poppy Maskill shining on her debut with three golds, while Sarah Storey, Britain's most decorated Paralympian, extended her legendary status with her 30th overall medal. The collective strength of Great Britain's athletes illuminated the 2024 Games, as they achieved medals in 18 out of the 19 sports they participated in, only missing out in wheelchair rugby.
