British Para-Swimmers Secure 2025 Funding After Stellar Paris Paralympics Performance
British Para-swimmers, including Paris champions, receive 2025 funding from UK Sport, aiming for success in the next Paralympic cycle.

Following an outstanding performance at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, 36 British Para-swimmers, including 15 Paralympic champions, have been awarded funding by UK Sport for the 2025 season. This financial support is part of the Aquatics GB Para-swimming World Class Programme (WCP), which provides athletes with access to world-class sports science, sports medicine services, and targeted financial assistance.
Britain's Para-swimmers secured an impressive 18 gold medals in Paris, placing them second in the swimming medal table. Among the funded athletes are Maisie Summers-Newton, Stephen Clegg, Alice Tai, and Poppy Maskill, who was the most-decorated athlete for ParalympicsGB in Paris, winning three golds and two silvers.
Adam Clarke, Aquatics GB's lead for Para-swimming, expressed optimism about the future: "We are excited to see how these athletes will thrive at the start of a new Paralympic cycle, supported by an exceptional staff team. Additionally, we have a group of young competitors who made their mark in Paris and are poised for further development this season."
The next Paralympics will be held in Los Angeles from August 15 to 27, 2028, providing a new stage for these athletes to showcase their talents and continue their success on the global stage.
