Corie Mapp Dominates Para-bobsleigh World Cup with Significant Lead
Corie Mapp secures a commanding lead in the Para-bobsleigh World Cup, aiming for another title.

Great Britain's Corie Mapp is in a formidable position to defend his Para-bobsleigh World Cup title after establishing a significant 131-point lead in Lillehammer. Mapp, who has consistently reached the podium throughout the season, has showcased extraordinary performance by winning three gold medals, one silver, and two bronze in just six rounds on the same challenging track.
In the most recent race, Mapp concluded with a third-place finish, enhancing his points tally to a substantial 1,285 for the season. His streak of performances includes remarkable consistency during four races within five days, featuring two first-place finishes along with two bronze medals.
Mapp’s closest competitors struggled to match his excellence during the Norwegian leg of the World Cup series. Arturs Klots from Latvia took home the gold with a narrow finish—just 0.06 seconds ahead of Christopher Stewart from Switzerland. Mapp was close behind, but his podium finish solidified his dominance in the standings.
As the competition transitions to Sigulda for the next two rounds on 31 January and 1 February, excitement builds. Notably, the second event will serve as the European Championships, where Mapp will aim to repeat his previous year’s success. The season will culminate in St Moritz, Switzerland with the World Championships scheduled for 13-14 February, where Mapp hopes to further cement his legacy in Para-bobsleigh.
With each race, Mapp continues to inspire as he competes at the highest level, proving that dedication and talent pave the way for success in winter sports.
