Luke Humphries Triumphs Over Nathan Aspinall in Thrilling US Darts Masters Final
Luke Humphries secures a thrilling victory over Nathan Aspinall in the US Darts Masters final at Madison Square Garden, marking a historic moment in North American darts.

In a nail-biting showdown at Madison Square Garden, world number one Luke Humphries clinched the US Darts Masters title with an 8-6 victory over fellow Englishman Nathan Aspinall. This win not only adds another feather to Humphries' cap but also sets a new record for the largest audience at a darts event in North America, with 4,000 fans in attendance.
Humphries, who recently claimed the World Masters and Premier League titles, continued his dominant form in the World Series of Darts event. Reflecting on his victory, Humphries said, "This is the most iconic venue that we play in, and it's really special to win this event. It's one of the top venues in the world, and it's one I've always dreamed of winning. When I finally won, it was an amazing relief."
Aspinall, the 2019 champion, started slowly in the final, falling behind 3-0. However, he staged a remarkable comeback, leveling the score at 5-5 with a stunning 90 finish on the bullseye. Humphries then edged ahead with a 142 checkout, and despite Aspinall's valiant efforts, he missed two crucial darts to tie the game at 7-7. Humphries seized the opportunity, sealing the win with a double eight.
En route to the final, Humphries defeated American Danny Lauby 6-2 and Welshman Gerwyn Price 7-2 in the semi-finals. Aspinall, on the other hand, overcame world champion Luke Littler 6-4 in the quarter-finals and Australian Damon Heta 7-3 in the semi-finals.
The World Series of Darts continues on 4-5 July with the Poland Darts Masters in Gliwice, promising more high-octane action for darts enthusiasts worldwide.
