Mr Vango Triumphs in Midlands Grand National: A Stunning Display of Stamina and Strategy
Mr Vango secures a thrilling victory in the Midlands Grand National, showcasing exceptional stamina and skill at Uttoxeter Racecourse.

Mr Vango, ridden by jockey Jack Tudor, delivered a remarkable performance to win the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter Racecourse. The nine-year-old gelding, trained by Sara Bradstock, showcased his endurance and jumping prowess in the challenging four and a quarter mile, 25-fence race.
A Race of Strategy and Stamina From the outset, Mr Vango took an early lead, maintaining a strong position throughout the race. Despite fierce competition from Tanganyika, who closed in during the final stages, Mr Vango held on to secure victory by approximately two lengths. This win adds to his impressive record, following successes in the London National at Sandown in December and the Peter Marsh at Haydock in January.
Emotional Victory for Sara Bradstock For trainer Sara Bradstock, this victory holds deep personal significance. Taking over the license from her late husband Mark just a year ago, this win marks her biggest achievement to date. "It's a very sad but very special day," Bradstock shared. "Mark would have been so proud of this horse, and it’s moments like these that remind me why we continue."
Looking Ahead to Aintree 2026 While Mr Vango doesn’t currently qualify for an entry at Aintree, Bradstock has her sights set on the Grand National in 2026. "He’s such a stayer with incredible stamina," she said. "I would love to see him take on the Grand National fences at Aintree. That’s the dream."
The race, attended by a near-capacity crowd of 10,000, proved to be an exhilarating spectacle. The Midlands Grand National continues its legacy as a test of endurance and determination, with Mr Vango emerging as a worthy champion.
