Gerwyn Price claimed his first night victory of the Premier League Darts season in a thrilling final against Nathan Aspinall, winning 6-3 in Dublin. The Welshman showcased his top form, defeating world champion Luke Littler and world number one Luke Humphries en route to the final.
A Dominant Performance
Price displayed exceptional skill and consistency throughout the evening, averaging an impressive 100.57 and hitting 50% of his checkouts. After exchanging breaks with Aspinall in the early legs, Price took control with a crucial break in the seventh leg, securing a 4-3 lead. He then held his throw and broke again to seal the win.
Mental Fortitude
Speaking after his quarter-final victory, Price emphasized his determination to reclaim his position as one of the sport's toughest competitors. "I want to be a tough nut to crack for everyone, that is what I used to be. That is where I was two or three years ago and I've maybe slipped off the radar a little bit but I am coming back," he said. "My game is in a great place and my mind is in a good place."
Aspinall's Resilient Run
For Nathan Aspinall, reaching the final was a significant achievement amid his struggles with 'dartitis,' a mental block that affects a player's ability to throw consistently. Despite feeling "absolutely shocking" earlier in the tournament, Aspinall pushed through with determination, defeating Rob Cross and Michael van Gerwen to secure his place in the final.
Tournament Standouts
Price's victory marks his first night win since the 11th event of the 2023 season, where he eventually finished as the runner-up. He has now won five consecutive matches against Luke Littler, who struggled with inconsistency in Dublin. Meanwhile, Humphries failed to reach the final for the first time this season after a 6-3 defeat to Price in the semi-finals.

The Premier League Darts continues with Week 4 in Exeter on 27 February. The action promises to be intense as players vie for crucial points in the league standings.
