Mac McClung Dominates NBA Slam Dunk Contest with Historic Third Win
Mac McClung secures his third consecutive NBA Slam Dunk Contest victory with jaw-dropping performances, including a car jump dunk.

Mac McClung’s Record-Breaking Performance
Mac McClung, the 26-year-old G League sensation, made history by winning his third consecutive NBA Slam Dunk Contest during the All-Star weekend in San Francisco. Despite having played only five minutes in the NBA this season for the Orlando Magic, McClung showcased unparalleled athleticism and creativity, earning perfect 50-point scores for all four of his dunks.
The Dunks That Stole the Show
-
Car Jump Reverse Dunk McClung started strong by leaping over a car parked under the basket. With a person holding the ball through an open sunroof, he executed a flawless reverse dunk.
-
Standing Man Leap His second dunk involved jumping over a standing man, twisting mid-air, and finishing with a powerful slam.
-
Hoverboard Spectacle McClung’s third dunk was a display of coordination and flair. He dunked one ball from a man spinning on a hoverboard while simultaneously slamming a second ball held by someone on a ladder.
-
Title-Clinching Dunk In the final round, McClung sealed his victory by dunking over 6ft 11in Cleveland Cavaliers player Evan Mobley, who was perched on a small platform.
Gratitude and Recognition
After his win, McClung expressed his gratitude: "Truly, stuff like this doesn't happen without standing on the shoulders of a lot of people. I had a lot of help. People were opening gyms to fit a car in. People were allowing me to use their car. I'm just really grateful right now."
McClung’s Career Highlights
McClung, who primarily plays in the G League, was named its Most Valuable Player last season. Despite his limited NBA appearances—playing just five games for the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Orlando Magic—McClung has cemented his legacy in slam dunk history. He now joins Nate Robinson as the only three-time Slam Dunk Contest winners.
Future Prospects
With his incredible performances, McClung has not only thrilled basketball fans but also positioned himself as a potential asset for NBA teams looking to add creativity and athleticism to their rosters.
