Chargers look to build on successful 2024 season
The Chargers are coming off a disappointing playoff exit but are looking to build on their success with a talented roster and plenty of cap space.

The Chargers had a successful 2024 season, adding six wins and making the playoffs. However, their season ended in embarrassing fashion with a loss to the Houston Texans in the first round. Quarterback Justin Herbert had the worst game of his career, throwing four interceptions. The Chargers will look to re-sign key players and add talent in the offseason to take the next step. They have the second-most salary cap space in the NFL and will be aggressive in pursuing top players. One of their top priorities is an extension for left tackle Rashawn Slater. The Chargers also have 27 unrestricted free agents, including linebacker Khalil Mack and cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. Mack is considering retirement, but coach Jim Harbaugh has joined the campaign to get him back next season.
