Netball’s Rising Stars: Team Bath Gears Up for Nxt Gen League Debut
Team Bath prepares for a fresh challenge in the Nxt Gen League after being excluded from the revamped NSL, aiming to showcase young talent in this U23 feeder league.

Team Bath is set to make their debut in the Nxt Gen League this season, starting with a high-stakes match against Nottingham Forest on February 7th. This match marks a new chapter for the team, which was one of four sides excluded from the recently restructured Netball Super League (NSL). The Nxt Gen League, described as an U23 feeder league, aims to nurture emerging talent while maintaining a competitive edge.
This season, Team Bath, along with Nottingham Forest and Birmingham Panthers, will compete in a league that features all eight professional NSL teams. The format will see all nine sides play home and away fixtures, with the league running until June 14-15. The schedule is aligned with NSL matches to maximize exposure and opportunities for young players.
Key Features of the Nxt Gen League:
- Age Eligibility: Primarily for athletes under 23, but squads can include up to four players over 23 to enhance the competition’s quality.
- Standalone Competition: Although closely connected to the NSL, the Nxt Gen League operates independently, focusing on developing future stars.
