Henry Arundell Returns to English Rugby with Bath
Bath Rugby has secured the signing of England back Henry Arundell from Racing 92, starting in the 2025-26 season.

Bath Rugby has officially announced the signing of talented England back Henry Arundell from the French club Racing 92. The deal, which spans three years starting from the 2025-26 season, marks a significant return for the 22-year-old player to English rugby after a stint abroad. With 10 international caps under his belt, Arundell has not featured for England since the 2023 World Cup, where he showcased his exceptional skills on the global stage.
Henry's journey took a dramatic turn following the collapse of London Irish, leading him to France's top-tier competition. During his time at Racing 92, he made an impressive impact, scoring 13 tries in 30 appearances, including a spectacular hat-trick on his Top 14 debut against Toulon.
A Dream Come True
In a heartfelt statement, Arundell expressed his excitement about joining Bath, a club he has supported since childhood. "Joining Bath will be a very special occasion for both myself and my family. We've been Bath fans for generations—ever since my grandparents—and growing up, I spent many years in the stands supporting the team. To potentially wear a Bath rugby shirt is incredibly exciting."
Bath's Rising Ambition
Arundell's return to the Premiership makes him eligible to represent England again, providing a fresh opportunity for further international caps. Bath's head of rugby, Johann van Graan, praised Arundell’s speed and scoring ability, highlighting his eagerness to improve as a player: "Henry made it clear that he wants to enhance his skills, and I believe Bath is the perfect place for that."
This signing is part of a broader strategy by Bath Rugby, who recently secured the services of Argentine full-back Santiago Carreras and made additional key signings, including Exeter hooker Dan Frost and scrum-half Bernard van der Linde from the Bulls. Despite the recent changes, the club remains focused on holistically developing players to create a competitive culture as they aim for Premiership glory.
With Arundell and other new talent joining the ranks, Bath Rugby is poised to create thrilling memories on the pitch in the coming seasons.
