Djokovic Misses Davis Cup Clash Due to Injury Setback
Novak Djokovic's hamstring injury forces him out of Serbia's Davis Cup match against Denmark, creating challenges for the team.

Novak Djokovic, the legendary 24-time Grand Slam champion, has officially withdrawn from Serbia’s first-round Davis Cup tie against Denmark due to a troubling hamstring injury. This decision comes on the heels of a disappointing semi-final at the Australian Open where Djokovic had to retire mid-match after dropping the first set to Alexander Zverev, leading to boos from a frustrated crowd.
In a statement addressing his injury, Djokovic shared an MRI image of his left hamstring, sarcastically commenting: "Thought I'd leave this here for all the sports injury 'experts' out there." This post reflects his frustration and the scrutiny athletes often face regarding their fitness.
Serbia will face Denmark this Friday, and Djokovic’s absence is a significant blow to the team's chances. Despite this setback, Serbia's captain, Viktor Troicki, remains optimistic. He stated, "We are weakened by not playing Novak, but we are still going for the win. The Danes have a great player in Holger Rune, but our players are also great and I believe in my team."
As the Serbian squad prepares to take on their opponents, the impact of Djokovic's departure looms large, yet the team aims to rise to the challenge and secure victory in this prestigious tournament.
