UFC President Denounces Fighter's Disturbing Hitler Remarks
UFC's Dana White condemns Bryce Mitchell's antisemitic comments, sparking outrage and concern in the MMA community.

UFC President Dana White has voiced strong condemnation towards fighter Bryce Mitchell following his shocking comments about Adolf Hitler, labeling them as "beyond disgusting." In a recent podcast episode, Mitchell, a 30-year-old fighter holding a professional MMA record of 17 wins and 2 losses, shockingly described the infamous German dictator as a "good guy" and expressed anti-Semitic views by claiming that "the Holocaust ain't real."
White responded swiftly, stating, "We reached out to Bryce immediately when we read what he said, and let him know exactly how we felt about it. But what he said was beyond disgusting and he needs a real education on the facts surrounding Hitler and World War Two." He further emphasized that "Hitler is one of the most disgusting and evil human beings to ever walk the earth," critiquing the dangerous influence of social media that allows ignorance to thrive.
Despite Dana White's severe condemnation, as of now, Mitchell has faced no formal repercussions for his statements, igniting a public outcry within the MMA community. Prominent combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani, who is Jewish, shared his disappointment on social media, stating, "Each and every day MMA finds a way to reach a new low. A new way of embarrassing itself and those who are fans of it." His remarks echo a broader sentiment of frustration regarding the tolerance of hate speech within the sport.
Additionally, Jonathan Greenblatt, the Anti-Defamation League's CEO, expressed complete dismay at Mitchell's comments, urging the UFC to take immediate measures to ensure that such toxic ideologies are not representative of the sport. The incident raises serious questions about the responsibilities of fighters, organizations, and fans in combating hate speech in combat sports.
As Mitchell remains active in the UFC since 2018, the broader implications of such remarks could have lasting effects on the image of mixed martial arts. This situation serves as a glaring reminder of the ongoing struggle against bigotry and the importance of fostering a respectful and inclusive community in sports.
