Hamilton Embraces New Chapter with Ferrari in Historic Debut
Lewis Hamilton celebrates his first day with Ferrari, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.

Lewis Hamilton has officially realized his dream by embarking on his inaugural day as a Ferrari driver, setting the stage for an unforgettable season ahead.
On January 20, 2025, the legendary seven-time world champion stepped into the Ferrari factory in Maranello, initiating a new era for both himself and the iconic Scuderia Ferrari team. After signing with Ferrari in January of the previous year, Hamilton's transition was delayed due to his contractual obligations with Mercedes, highlighting the anticipation surrounding his move.
“There are some days that you know you'll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days,” said Hamilton in an emotional Instagram post.
The Briton expressed immense joy at finally donning the legendary red and spoke passionately about his aspirations: “Part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn't be happier to realize that dream today. Today we start a new chapter in the history of this iconic team, and I can't wait to see what story we will write together.”
Hamilton's first day was a whirlwind of activities, including a warm welcome from team principal Frederic Vasseur and CEO Benedetto Vigna. He toured significant sites within the Ferrari establishment—including the historic Fiorano house and famous pit garage, where he envisioned the passion and legacy of founder Enzo Ferrari.
As part of his integration, Hamilton met with Ferrari's management team, including vice-chairman Piero Ferrari, participating in a comprehensive immersion program. This included visits to various departments that empower the team’s engineering excellence and competitive spirit.
The 2025 season preparation continues with Hamilton expected to drive the 2023 F1 car at Ferrari's Fiorano test track shortly, before continuing testing at Barcelona. Notably, this will be Hamilton’s first experience driving a non-Mercedes engine during his storied 18-year career in Formula 1, making adaptation essential.
Ferrari's Vasseur acknowledges the challenges ahead: “It is not easy but he is coming with his own experience. He is not the rookie of the year; I am not worried at all about this.”
As the official pre-season testing at Bahrain approaches on February 26-28, Hamilton will share driving responsibilities with teammate Charles Leclerc. All eyes will be on their performance as they prepare for the season opener in Australia from March 14-16.
The excitement only intensifies as Hamilton and the Ferrari team prepare for the public unveiling of their new car on February 19, following a grand launch event at London's O2 Arena.
This remarkable journey is just beginning, and fans worldwide are eager to witness the magic that unfolds in the world of Formula 1 as Hamilton and Ferrari aim for glory.
