Jefte's Potential Departure from Rangers: A New Chapter for the Brazilian Left-Back
Brazilian left-back Jefte is likely to leave Rangers, with a potential £6m move to Palmeiras. Head coach Russell Martin discusses the implications.

Brazilian left-back Jefte is "likely" to leave Rangers, as revealed by head coach Russell Martin. Speaking ahead of Saturday's Premier Sports Cup tie with Alloa Athletic, Martin hinted at having a contingency plan for the 21-year-old's proposed exit.
Jefte has been linked with a £6m move to Palmeiras in his homeland. Having made over 50 appearances for the Ibrox club and scoring once, his departure would mark a significant change for the team.
"He was in yesterday morning and things have transpired that he's not here now but we'll have to wait and see what happens over the next couple of days," Martin told BBC Scotland.
"It's looking likely he will be on his way and if he goes, he goes with everyone's best wishes and if for whatever reason because this is football it doesn't happen, he'll be welcomed back."
Martin emphasized that the club would not let Jefte go without ensuring they are not left short in that position. This potential move could open new opportunities for both Jefte and Rangers as they navigate the upcoming season.
