Leicester Tigers Secure US Prop Tonga Kofe for the 2025-26 Rugby Season
Leicester Tigers have signed US prop Tonga Kofe for the 2025-26 season, aiming to bolster their squad under new head coach Geoff Parling.

Leicester Tigers have officially announced the signing of United States international prop Tonga Kofe for the 2025-26 season. The 29-year-old, who has earned three caps for the US national team, will join the Tigers after an impressive season with the Utah Warriors, where he played a pivotal role in securing the top spot in the Major League Rugby Western Conference.
Kofe, who transitioned from American football to rugby, is the seventh signing made by Leicester since their narrow 23-21 defeat by Bath in last season's Premiership final. His arrival is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the Tigers' forward pack under the guidance of new head coach Geoff Parling.
"Joining Leicester Tigers is more than just a new chapter — it's the result of years of hard work, setbacks, and sacrifices," Kofe expressed on the club's website. "This club represents tradition, pride, and a relentless standard, and I'm ready to give everything I've got to be part of that."
Parling, who was appointed as the successor to Michael Cheika, is optimistic about Kofe's potential. "Tonga is a prop who is late to rugby but who we think has huge potential," Parling stated. "He's physically very strong, but from speaking to his coaches in America, it's his willingness to learn that stands out."
Leicester Tigers are determined to build on their recent performances and aim for greater success in the upcoming season. With Kofe's addition, the team hopes to enhance their scrum and overall gameplay, making them a formidable contender in the Premiership.
