Rain Halts Kent vs Leicestershire County Championship Clash at Canterbury
Persistent rain disrupts day three of the County Championship match between Kent and Leicestershire, leading to a likely draw.

The County Championship match between Division Two leaders Leicestershire and Kent at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury, was heavily impacted by rain on day three. Only 9.5 overs were possible, with Kent moving to 217-3. Ben Compton, who was 101 not out overnight, added 10 runs to his score, while nightwatch George Garrett remained unbeaten on three when the rain returned at 11:50 BST.
Play began 15 minutes late due to rain, and no wickets fell during the truncated morning session. Although a restart was scheduled for 17:30, a further shower forced the umpires to abandon play for the day five minutes before the players were due to go back out.
With Leicestershire having scored 471 in their first innings, Kent trails by 254 runs. The match now looks to be heading for a draw, with both teams earning points from the game. Leicestershire currently have 6 points, while Kent have 3.
