Hirst, aged 26, expressed his enthusiasm about the new deal, stating, "I've enjoyed every single day at the club since joining, and am really pleased to have signed a new deal. We have achieved so much as a team, group, and club over the last few years, and to be part of that going forward, and hopefully achieving even more, is really exciting for me."
Manager Kieran McKenna also shared his thoughts on Hirst's extension, saying, "We're very pleased George has decided to extend his stay at the club. George has had a big impact on the progression of the club over the last two-and-a-half years."
In addition to his club achievements, Hirst made his international debut for Scotland in March, marking a significant milestone in his career. His consistent performance and dedication have made him a key player for both Ipswich Town and the national team.
