James Anderson Shines as Lancashire Narrows Gap in T20 Blast North Group
James Anderson's stellar performance helped Lancashire secure a crucial win, narrowing the gap with Northamptonshire in the T20 Blast North Group.

Lancashire's Dominant Performance
James Anderson showcased his bowling prowess, taking three crucial wickets as Lancashire thumped Worcestershire by seven wickets at New Road. Anderson's figures of 3-32 from four overs were instrumental in restricting Worcestershire to a modest total of 143. Keaton Jennings (42) and Liam Livingstone (41 not out) then guided Lancashire to victory with 15 balls to spare.
Northamptonshire's First Defeat
Northamptonshire, the North Group leaders, suffered their first defeat of the season, losing to Durham by 15 runs. Despite a solid start, Northamptonshire faltered in the final overs, adding only 46 runs for the loss of five wickets. Jimmy Neesham was the star for Durham, scoring an unbeaten 50 and taking 3-29 with the ball.
Birmingham Bears Continue Winning Streak
The Birmingham Bears extended their winning streak to four matches with a 32-run victory over Yorkshire. Ed Barnard's 67 from 40 balls was the cornerstone of Bears' total of 205-8. Despite Dawid Malan's 65, Yorkshire fell short, posting 173-5.
Derbyshire's First Win
Derbyshire Falcons secured their first win of the campaign with a 46-run victory over Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge. Samit Patel, returning to haunt his former team, took 3-14, while Aneurin Donald's explosive 73 off 34 balls set the platform for Derbyshire's total of 199-5.
Somerset's Unbeaten Run
In the South Group, Somerset maintained their unbeaten record with a six-wicket victory over Gloucestershire. Lewis Goldsworthy claimed a career-best 4-13 as Somerset chased down the target of 136 with 14 balls to spare.
Middlesex's Thrilling Tie
Middlesex snatched a last-ball tie against Hampshire in a rain-shortened six-over slog at Southampton. Max Holden's 38 from 18 balls was crucial in Middlesex reaching the DLS target of 76.
Essex Denied by Rain
Essex were denied their first win of the season as their match against Sussex was abandoned due to rain. Jordan Cox's 82 off 47 balls had put Essex in a commanding position before the weather intervened.
