Jens Berthel Askou: The Ambitious New Face of Motherwell FC
Jens Berthel Askou, the new manager of Motherwell FC, brings a wealth of experience and a hunger for success to the Scottish Premiership.

Jens Berthel Askou, the newly appointed manager of Motherwell FC, is setting his sights high as he steps into his role with the Scottish Premiership club. The 42-year-old Dane, who has previously managed in Denmark, Sweden, and the Faroe Islands, expressed his eagerness to lead Motherwell to new heights.
"Having spoken extensively with members of the club board, it was clear from the outset that our ideas, ambitions and morals align," said Askou. "We are all ambitious people, and we're all hungry for success. I can't wait to arrive in Scotland and begin planning for the season ahead. There is a lot of work to be done, but it's highly exciting."
Askou's managerial career includes notable achievements such as winning promotion to the Danish top flight with both Vendsyssel and Horsens, and securing a league and cup double in the Faroe Islands with HB Torshavn. His most recent role was as an assistant coach at FC Copenhagen, where he worked under manager Jacob Neestrup.
Motherwell chairman Kyrk Macmillan expressed his confidence in Askou's ability to deliver success. "We had a high number of impressive applicants, but we were really drawn to Jens," said Macmillan. "His track record of working with big clubs, delivering success and developing young players matches up with all our philosophies. He has handed 26 teenagers debuts in five-and-a-half seasons, which I think is evidence of Jens implementing his ideas and morals."
Askou's appointment comes at a crucial time for Motherwell, as they prepare for the upcoming season with a focus on building a competitive squad and fostering young talent. With his experience and ambition, Askou is poised to make a significant impact on the club's future.
