Field of Gold Triumphs in Irish 2,000 Guineas with Stunning Performance
Field of Gold dominated the Irish 2,000 Guineas, showcasing a powerful performance to secure a clear victory at the Curragh.

Field of Gold delivered an impressive performance to claim victory in the Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh, finishing three and three-quarters of a length ahead of Cosmic Year. The evens favorite, trained by John and Thady Gosden, bounced back from a disappointing showing at Newmarket earlier this month to match the feat of his sire, Kingman, who won the race in 2014.
Starting from a wide position, Field of Gold emerged from the pack with a few furlongs remaining, sprinting clear of the nine-strong field. Cosmic Year (4-1) secured second place, finishing three-quarters of a length ahead of Hotazhell (10-1) in third.
Jockey Colin Keane, who replaced Kieran Shoemark for this race, praised the horse's performance: "It was as good a feel as I've had off a horse in a long time. He's just so straightforward and powerful. I just stepped in for today, but he seems to be a horse going the right way."
Keane also acknowledged Shoemark's contribution, stating: "Kieran is an absolute gentleman. He put me straight and told me everything I need to know. I'm very thankful for that."
This victory marks a significant milestone for Field of Gold, reaffirming his status as one of the top contenders in the horse racing world. The win at the Curragh highlights the horse's resilience and the expert training of the Gosden team, setting the stage for future successes in the racing season.
