The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has announced the rescheduling of its Paris event, originally set for May 23 at the Accor Arena. The event was to feature a headline bout between Frenchman Mansour Barnaoui and Archie Colgan in the lightweight division. Additionally, retired footballer Patrice Evra was set to make his MMA debut, marking a surprising move for the former Manchester United defender.

Evra, 43, who retired from football in 2019, has been training with PFL star and friend Cedric Doumbe since 2016. Despite the anticipation, no reason has been provided for the event's postponement, and a new date is yet to be confirmed.

In a recent social media post, Evra expressed his enthusiasm for the sport, stating, "I love this game too." He also hinted at a potential opponent, mentioning Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, with whom he has a contentious history. Evra joked, "They will pick my opponent. They asked who I wanna face. I said Luis Suarez. I'll pay out of pocket. He can even bite me."

The PFL, recognized as the second-largest MMA promotion globally, continues to build its schedule and fan base. The rescheduled Paris event promises to deliver high-octane action, with Evra's debut being a major draw for MMA enthusiasts.
