Rory McIlroy Prepares for Open Championship with Scottish Open Participation
Rory McIlroy gears up for the Open Championship by participating in the Scottish Open, aiming to add another title to his illustrious career.

Rory McIlroy has confirmed his participation in the Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, as part of his preparations for the upcoming Open Championship in Northern Ireland. This event, scheduled just before the Open Championship, is crucial for McIlroy as he aims to secure a second Open title at Royal Portrush from 17-20 July 2025.
McIlroy, who won the Scottish Open in 2023, expressed his enthusiasm about returning to the course. "Winning a national open is always special, and I'm pleased to have the chance to compete for another Genesis Scottish Open title," said the 35-year-old golf star. "It has certainly been a memorable year so far, and I'm looking forward to carrying on the momentum to the home of golf this summer."
Earlier this year, McIlroy achieved a significant milestone by becoming only the sixth man to complete the career Grand Slam of major wins, following his victory over Justin Rose in a playoff at Augusta. His next major target is the US PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, a course where he has previously triumphed four times, set to take place from 15-18 May.
The Scottish Open will also feature other top golfers such as Bob MacIntyre, Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa, and Justin Thomas, making it a highly anticipated event in the golfing calendar.
