Ryu and Saigo Tied for Lead at Chevron Championship Final Round
Haeran Ryu and Mao Saigo share the lead at the Chevron Championship, setting up an exciting final round as both aim for their first major title.

South Korea's Haeran Ryu and Japan's Mao Saigo are set to face off in an exhilarating final round of the Chevron Championship, both tied at nine under par as they vie for their first major golf title.
Ryu surged into contention with a stunning performance at The Club at Carlton Woods, carding four consecutive birdies starting from the sixth hole in her third round. She finished with a 68, showcasing her precision and calm under pressure.
"I was focusing on finding good spots for easy putts and making birdies. It worked out well for me," said the 24-year-old, who narrowly missed the title last year. "Last year’s final round was tough, but I’ve learned to stay calm and enjoy the course more this time."
Saigo, meanwhile, shot a 69, maintaining her composure with a birdie at the 13th and steady pars to match Ryu’s score. "The course conditions were challenging, and making birdies was difficult. I was lucky with a couple of chip-ins," she admitted.
Lindy Duncan of the United States is just one shot behind at eight under, while Sarah Schmelzel and Yan Liu, the halfway leader, are another stroke back. Liu’s hopes were dented by a double bogey at the par-three 17th after finding a bunker and rough.
Defending champion Nelly Korda struggled, sitting nine shots back at level par after a round of 71 that included back-to-back double bogeys early on.
With the final round approaching, all eyes are on Ryu and Saigo as they prepare to battle for glory in one of golf’s most prestigious tournaments.
