UFC fighter Carlos Prates, 31, has admitted to smoking up to 10 cigarettes a day before fights. This is quite unusual for high-level athletes due to the associated health risks like cardiovascular disease, lung disease, and lung cancer. Prates, who has won his first four UFC fights by knockout, wants to quit but finds it hard. Ian Machado Garry, 27, his opponent, is focused on the fight and confident of victory. The headlining fight was arranged after Jamahal Hill withdrew injured. Machado Garry has a strong UFC record and believes a win over Prates could lead to a title shot.
