Aberdeen Nears Milestone Signing: Nicolas Milanovic Set to Join the Dons
Aberdeen is on the verge of signing Australian forward Nicolas Milanovic, marking a significant addition to their squad for the upcoming season.

Aberdeen is in the final stages of securing a deal with Australian forward Nicolas Milanovic from Western Sydney Wanderers. The 23-year-old has been a standout performer in the A-League this season, netting 12 goals and assisting in 6 more. Milanovic, who primarily plays as a right winger but is versatile across the front line, still has a year remaining on his contract in Australia. This means Aberdeen will need to pay a transfer fee of just under £500,000.
Milanovic is also a key player in the Australian Under-23 national team, managed by former Rangers defender Tony Vidmar. The agreement between the clubs is nearly finalized, and Milanovic is expected to be the first signing for Aberdeen’s new manager, Jimmy Thelin, in the summer transfer window.
Aberdeen, currently fifth in the Scottish Premiership with five games left, will host Hibernian this Saturday. Hibernian is just three points ahead of both Aberdeen and Dundee United, making this match crucial for the final standings.
This potential signing underscores Aberdeen's ambition to strengthen their squad as they aim for a higher finish in the league and build on their recent success as Scottish Cup finalists.
