Eni Aluko's Broadcasting Career Damaged by Standing Up to Joey Barton
Former England striker Eni Aluko reveals her career as a pundit has suffered due to legal case against Barton.

Former England striker Eni Aluko, 38, has disclosed that her broadcasting career has taken a hit because of her ongoing civil legal battle with former Newcastle and Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton. In an interview with BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, Aluko stated that despite winning the first stage of a High Court libel claim against Barton for defamatory social media posts, her work has been affected. Barton, 42, has yet to respond to the ruling and could appeal. Aluko said she faced threats and abuse on social media, and even had to leave the house in disguise. The limited opportunities for female broadcasters in football add to the challenges.
