Shaun Murphy's Dominant Performance at World Championship
Former world champion Shaun Murphy takes a commanding lead in his first-round match.

Former world champion Shaun Murphy has eased into a commanding 7-2 lead in the first session of his World Championship first-round match against Crucible debutant Daniel Wells. The 42-year-old Murphy, aiming for his second world title 20 years after his first success, won four frames in a row to take control. Murphy made a fine start and showed his class with impressive breaks. Wells also had moments of brilliance but couldn't stop Murphy's dominance. Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump are set to begin their campaigns later.
