In a gripping encounter at the Pakistan Super League (PSL), David Warner showcased his batting prowess with a crucial 60 runs off 47 balls, steering Karachi Kings to a thrilling two-wicket victory over Peshawar Zalmi. The Kings successfully chased down a target of 148, reaching the total with just three balls to spare.
Warner's innings was pivotal after Karachi stumbled early, losing three wickets for just 42 runs. With nine runs needed in the final over, Khushdil Shah held his nerve, smashing two fours to finish unbeaten on 23 and seal the win.
For Peshawar, Luke Wood was the standout bowler, claiming 3-28, including the early dismissal of Tim Seifert and James Vince. Earlier, Babar Azam struggled to find his rhythm, scoring 46 off 41 balls, but lacked support from the rest of the lineup. Haris Rauf contributed 28, while Alzarri Joseph added a quickfire 24 not out to bolster Peshawar's total to 147-8.
Karachi's Khushdil Shah also made an impact with the ball, taking 3-20, complemented by Abbas Afridi's 3-30. This victory propels Karachi to second place in the PSL standings, trailing only the unbeaten Islamabad United, while Peshawar remains fourth with just one win in the tournament so far.
