Carlos Alcaraz Dominates Djere to Advance to Barcelona Open Quarter-Finals
Carlos Alcaraz continues his winning streak with a straight-set victory over Laslo Djere, advancing to the quarter-finals of the Barcelona Open.

Carlos Alcaraz showcased his exceptional skills once again as he defeated Laslo Djere in straight sets to secure his spot in the Barcelona Open quarter-finals. The Spanish world number two, who recently triumphed at the Monte Carlo Masters, demonstrated his dominance with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over the unseeded Serbian.
Alcaraz started strong, winning the first five games and producing eight unanswered winners in the first set. Despite a minor setback in the second set where he fell behind 4-2, Alcaraz quickly regained his composure and secured the final four games to clinch the match.
"After going 4-2 down in the second, I played a bit more like what my level is," Alcaraz commented. "I am very happy that I could step up my level, and seem more like my best and I want to continue."
The 21-year-old tennis sensation will now face Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals. The Australian fifth seed delivered a commanding performance, defeating Britain's Jacob Fearnley with a score of 6-1, 6-2. Fearnley, who had previously secured his first ATP Tour win on clay against Spain's Roberto Carballes Baena, was unable to match De Minaur's intensity.
In other matches, Russian fourth seed Andrey Rublev was upset by unseeded Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina with a score of 7-5, 6-4. Davidovich Fokina will now face Karen Khachanov in the quarter-finals, after the Russian defeated Spain's Jaume Munar by the same margin.
The Barcelona Open continues to deliver thrilling matches as top players vie for the prestigious title. Stay tuned for more updates and live scores.
