RB Leipzig Dismiss Marco Rose After Disappointing Bundesliga Form
RB Leipzig parts ways with head coach Marco Rose following a poor run of form, jeopardizing their Champions League aspirations.

RB Leipzig has announced the departure of head coach Marco Rose after a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga. The decision was made following a string of poor performances, with Leipzig winning just three of their last 11 league matches.
Marco Rose, who managed the club for two and a half years, led RB Leipzig to a German Cup victory in 2023 and won 72 out of 127 matches in charge. Despite these achievements, recent struggles prompted the club to seek a new direction.
Current Season Challenges
- League Position: Leipzig sits 6th in the Bundesliga, just three points off a Champions League qualification spot.
- German Cup Semifinal: They will face VfB Stuttgart on Wednesday, hoping to salvage a strong finish to the season.
- Klopp Speculation: Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, affiliated with Red Bull soccer operations, ruled out taking over a Red Bull team, leaving Leipzig’s managerial future uncertain.
Club Statement
Marcel Schäfer, Leipzig’s managing director for sport, stated:
"We believed in Marco and his team for a long time, but due to recent results, we require fresh impetus to meet our season objectives."
With seven Bundesliga matches remaining, the club seeks a turnaround to secure European competition next season. Will an interim coach steady the ship, or will Leipzig make a high-profile appointment?
