Viktor Hovland's Dramatic Finish Seals Victory at Valspar Championship
Viktor Hovland clinched the Valspar Championship with a stunning late surge, overcoming Justin Thomas to secure his seventh PGA Tour title.

Viktor Hovland delivered a masterclass performance at the Valspar Championship, securing his victory with three birdies in the final five holes. The Norwegian golfer, who had missed the cut in his previous three tournaments, carded a four-under 67 to edge out Justin Thomas by one shot.
Thomas seemed poised for victory after a remarkable streak of seven birdies through 15 holes. However, bogeys at the 16th and 18th holes allowed Hovland to capitalize and claim the title, marking his first PGA Tour win since the 2023 Tour Championship in Atlanta.
"It's still kind of sinking in," Hovland remarked after his win. "When JT made a birdie on 15 and was three shots ahead, I remained calm and composed. I just focused on hitting good shots and making putts, and it all came together beautifully."
Jacob Bridgeman, the tournament leader at the halfway stage, finished one shot behind Hovland in third place after a final-round 69. Japan's Ryo Hisatsune and American duo Bud Cauley and Billy Horschel rounded out the top five, tied for fourth place at eight under par.
The Valspar Championship once again proved to be a showcase of top-tier golf, with Hovland's late surge adding to the event's legacy of dramatic finishes. For more highlights and updates from the PGA Tour, follow the latest on PGA Tour's official website.
