"You are a rugby player, so to redefine yourself was massively important," he reflected. This period of soul-searching led him to establish the Get Busy Living Centre, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to supporting individuals with spinal injuries.

The Get Busy Living Centre, nestled in rural Leicestershire, offers comprehensive support, including physiotherapy, personal training, and wellbeing advice. Hampson's foundation has helped hundreds of individuals, some of whom have gone on to compete in the Paralympic Games. "The most worthwhile thing we can do in our life is to make an impression on someone else's life," Hampson said.

"Now you can get busy living and you can do things," he said. "It's a challenge, every day is a challenge, but it makes it enjoyable and makes it worthwhile."
