Constitution Hill Dominates Kempton Workout Ahead of Cheltenham Festival 2024
Constitution Hill showcases a flawless performance at Kempton, solidifying his status as the favorite for the upcoming Cheltenham Festival's Champion Hurdle.

Constitution Hill, the unbeaten eight-year-old horse, has once again proven his exceptional talent with a stellar performance during a pre-Cheltenham Festival workout at Kempton. Under the guidance of trainer Nicky Henderson and jockey Nico de Boinville, Constitution Hill left spectators and stakeholders in awe, reinforcing his position as the odds-on favorite for the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival 2024.
Perfect Execution at Kempton Henderson described the workout as "perfect," a significant improvement from last year's disappointing performance which led to a year-long hiatus from racing. This year, Constitution Hill demonstrated his peak condition, effortlessly pulling clear of his work partners, That's Nice and Aston Martini, under the watchful eyes of Henderson and owner Michael Buckley.
Henderson recounted, "Nico's face, my face, and Michael's face will probably tell you it's a different day [to last year]. That's him, and it's good to watch really isn't it - it's frightening to watch, actually." The trainer emphasized the importance of moving past last year's challenges, stating, "We've been so happy and you've just got to blank out last year."
Preparation for Cheltenham With the Cheltenham Festival approaching, Henderson shared insights into the minimal additional training required for Constitution Hill. "[He won't do] much more. He had a good bit on Friday and that was to decide whether to come here and I was in two minds, but Nico said 'I think he will enjoy it and it will be fun' and that really will do him," Henderson revealed.
He added, "We wouldn't want to do much more this week. He will jump some hurdles, probably on Monday or Tuesday of next week, and I'd say he'd probably have one more gallop on our grass."
As the Festival draws near, all eyes will be on Constitution Hill, whose performance at Kempton has set high expectations for his upcoming races.
