Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Feyenoord. This marks a significant moment for the club, as Van Persie returns to where his football journey began.
Van Persie, who retired from professional football in 2019, has quickly made a name for himself in the coaching world. After a brief stint at Heerenveen, where he won seven out of 23 games, he now takes the helm at Feyenoord. His contract with the club extends until 2027, signaling a long-term commitment to the team's future.
A Club Legend Returns Van Persie’s connection with Feyenoord runs deep. He made 122 appearances for the club during his two spells as a player, scoring 46 goals. His experience as an assistant coach under Dick Advocaat and his work with the youth teams have prepared him well for this new role.
Building a Strong Team Van Persie will be assisted by Rene Hake, who previously worked with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. This dynamic duo aims to bring stability and success to Feyenoord, currently third in the Eredivisie, 11 points behind leaders Ajax.
