On the third day of the Test, Australia resumed their innings at 330-3 and were eventually bowled out for 414. Key contributions came from Alex Carey, who scored a magnificent 156, and Steve Smith, who added 131 to the total. Sri Lanka's Struggle Continues

Sri Lanka's second innings got off to a rocky start, with Matthew Kuhnemann removing both openers early. Dimuth Karunaratne, playing his final Test innings, managed only 14 runs before receiving a warm ovation from the crowd. At 37 years old, Lyon became the third Australian to reach this milestone, following in the footsteps of Shane Warne (708 wickets) and Glenn McGrath (563 wickets). His journey began at the very same venue in Galle back in 2011, making this achievement even more special.

Angelo Mathews provided some resistance with a solid 76, but he too fell victim to Lyon, caught by Beau Webster. Kusal Mendis remained unbeaten on 48 as Sri Lanka finished the day at 211-8, holding a slim lead of 54 runs with two second-innings wickets in hand.
