Popcorn and Passion: Omaha Mavericks Bring Unique Promotion to Baxter Arena

The Omaha Mavericks are riding high with a unique 'Bring Your Own Can' promotion, inviting fans to enjoy popcorn while celebrating their success.

As the final months of the college basketball season approach, the Omaha Mavericks are soaring, boasting an undefeated record in Summit League play and riding a thrilling nine-game winning streak. To harness this momentum and fill the seats at Baxter Arena, the team has come up with an innovative fan promotion: a chance to fill cans with freshly popped popcorn for just $5!

This exciting event is set for Saturday when the Mavericks face off against the Denver Pioneers. Fans are encouraged to bring their own five-gallon (or smaller) trash cans to the arena. Once there, they can visit the Nineteen 08 concession stand to fill their containers to the brim with popcorn at an unbeatable price. However, it's worth noting that any cans not properly sanitized may be turned away by the arena staff.

The inspiration for this whimsical promotion stems from a lighthearted team morale booster initiated by associate head coach Kyan Brown. Following a string of tough losses, Brown found an unconventional way to lift spirits by taking a defiant stand against a locker room trash can. Following this, the Mavericks managed to clinch their first victory in two weeks against Cal Poly, spawning a new tradition.

Since then, after every victory in this impressive winning streak, Coach Brown enthusiastically goes to town on a trash can, using anything at hand—a soccer ball, a bat, or even a steel chair—to celebrate the team’s achievements. Fans can rejoice knowing that any trash cans brought to Saturday’s game will not face the wrath of Coach Brown post-victory!

So gear up, Mavericks fans, and don’t miss out on this opportunity to join the festivities. Who can resist the call of popcorn and victories? Grab your cans and get ready to support the Mavericks as they aim to extend their winning streak against the Pioneers!

Let’s make Baxter Arena roar with excitement! #GoMavs #OmahaMBB
