UFL Stars Making Moves: Butler Signs with Bengals
The United Football League (UFL) season may be over, but its players are making headlines as they sign with NFL teams. One of the latest signings is wide receiver Hakeem Butler, who has agreed to terms with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Butler led the UFL in receiving yards this season, hauling in 652 yards on 45 catches and scoring five touchdowns. The Iowa State product was originally a fourth-round pick of the Cardinals in 2018 and has spent time with the Cardinals, Panthers, Eagles, and Steelers, as well as the CFL and XFL.
The Bengals are hoping that Butler can provide some much-needed depth at the wide receiver position. With the departure of A.J. Green, the team is looking for someone to step up and fill the void. Butler has the potential to do just that, and his signing is a great addition to the Bengals' roster.
Other UFL players who have signed with NFL teams include Sal Cannella (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Kiondre Thomas (Carolina Panthers), and Nate Brooks (Cincinnati Bengals). As the UFL continues to gain recognition, more and more of its players are likely to receive opportunities in the NFL.
