FRISCO, Texas -- Brian Schottenheimer is stepping into a demanding role as the new head coach and playcaller for the Dallas Cowboys. With a wealth of NFL experience, Schottenheimer is tasked with managing the team's overall strategy while focusing on quarterback Dak Prescott and the weekly game plan.

Time Management is Key

Schottenheimer emphasized the importance of time management in his new role. "This is not for people that don't know how to manage their time," he said. "If you don't know how to manage your time, this is not a good profession to be in."

The last time the Cowboys had a first-time head coach also serving as the offensive playcaller was Jason Garrett in 2012. Schottenheimer will rely on Ryan Feder, the game management coordinator, to assist with critical in-game decisions. "I think he does it as well as anybody in the business," Schottenheimer said. "On game day, you need one voice that you're hearing."

Schottenheimer is optimistic about the upcoming season, drawing on his three years of experience within the Cowboys' organization. "I know all the pieces," he said. "I know all those people."
