Motor City Golf has been announced as the seventh team to join the Tech Golf League (TGL) for the 2027 season. This exciting new venture is co-owned by Steve Hamp and Sheila Ford Hamp, the principal owner and chairwoman of the Detroit Lions, along with Michael Hamp, Peter Hamp, and Kevin Kelleher. The ownership group also includes Rob Walton, owner of the Denver Broncos, and attorney Jordan Rose.

Michael Hamp expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "This is a great moment for Detroit sports and a proud moment for me personally. My grandfather, William Clay Ford Sr., was an avid golfer, and I believe bringing a new format of the game he loved would make him really proud."

TGL, co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is a tech-infused golf league that debuted with six teams representing major cities across the United States. The league features a unique format where teams consist of four golfers, with three competing in each match at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
