Jon Jones made his professional MMA debut in 2008 and quickly became one of the sport's brightest stars. He won the UFC light heavyweight championship in 2011 at the age of 23, becoming the youngest champion in UFC history. However, his career has been marred by a series of controversies and legal issues away from the Octagon. In 2015, he was involved in a hit-and-run accident that injured a pregnant woman. He was also arrested and charged with DUI in 2012 and 2020. In 2015, he tested positive for cocaine and was suspended for 15 months. In 2017, he was again caught using a banned substance and was stripped of his title. In 2018, he was banned for a year after testing positive for Turinabol. In 2023, he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery domestic violence and injuring or tampering with a vehicle. Despite these issues, Jones remains one of the most talented and exciting fighters in MMA. He has a record of 26-1-1 and has won 14 of his last 15 fights. His next fight is scheduled for November 16, 2024, against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309.
